Swim
Comments: Really took it easy on the swim which paid dividens later in the race. Counted strokes kept me focused and on track. What would you do differently?: I could certainly go stronger and get into a draft but this always raises my anxiety. I prefer to swim alone. Transition 1
Comments: First year sockless and shoes mounted saved 1 min over last years T1. Did have a little trouble jumping on the bike. What would you do differently?: Take my time mounting. I went for my shoes too quickly, missed and had them get hung up a little. Bike
Comments: A tough course but one of my favorites. Leap frog with another participant kept things fun and me pushing the pace. George if you're reading this, Thx! Transition 2
Comments: Sockless = speed. I recommend it for anyone thinking about giving it a go. Run
Comments: Decided to carry my own drink. This worked great as I could hydrate when I wanted to not just at the stations. Plus time saved not having to slow down at the stations. Post race
Warm down: Walk around stretch. Muscle Milk my favorite revovery drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Tentative in the swim but don't know that I would change that as I felt great the rest of the race. Event comments: Not sure if IM read the comments on the sprint from earlier this year, but they stepped up and put on a race that I would expect from them. Last updated: 2012-06-19 12:00 AM

Light breakfast throughout the morning. Had to string it out a little due to a late wave start (wave 11) over an hour after transition closed.
