Swim
Comments: Felt good. Went out a bit too fast but calmed down as the swim continued. Had to lift my head and upper body up a couple of times during the race. First time sighting in a race (1st race!), went better than expected but not great. What would you do differently?: Swim more. My endurance wasn't where it should have been. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Run past woman who was walking instead of silently seething. Bike
Comments: Rode on a mountain bike with road tires. Definitely was better than using mountain bike tires but not as nice as having a road bike. Felt like I pushed myself pretty well during the ride, which I was pleased about. What would you do differently?: Bike more. Wouldn't invest in a road bike yet as this was my first triathlon, but would seriously consider it for the future. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Wow! Who knew my legs could feel this tired? The small inclines felt like mountains. I really had to talk myself into continuing to run vs. walk. Had nothing left in the tank at the end. Funny thing is that is the fastest minutes per mile time I have run in a while. What would you do differently?: Run more during training. Post race
Warm down: None. Stretched my legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training. Event comments: Very well organized race. Excellent race for 1st timers. Last updated: 2012-06-19 12:00 AM

Ate toast with peanut butter and a banana. Got to race early (6:30ish) to pick up my packet as I worked until 10p.m. the night before. Set up transition area. Waited.
