![]() Swim
Comments: Warm water, no waves. Starting in the second wave let us see the first wave get pushed south by the current way past the buoys. This let me find a better aiming point north of the buoy line. Must've worked, since I hit each buoy within 10 feet of my left shoulder. What would you do differently?: Secure my RoadID (fell off...I grabbed it and tread water to re-attach). I thought I was starting far enough to one side, but I really should've been further to the right. My time was almost exactly what I expected based on my longer pool workouts. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I didn't wear my tri top in the water, and practiced putting it on in transition. At my bike I hit my helmet and spilled everything all over the place, so I had to collect everything and make sure I had it all...costing me time. I noticed the 4 guys ahead of me had their shoes on the bike, but I was able to get past them and going while they were still fussing w/ them at the mount line. What would you do differently?: Not be a klutz! ![]() Bike
Comments: I went slower than I could've, wanting to save gas for the run. I did shoot over the "hills" passing a lot of riders, but they cought me in the flats. Makes sense, as I was on my only bike (long-distance Ti road bike w/ clip on aerobars), which is a great climber. Had on Clif Shot about 1/3 the way through (non-caffeinated). What would you do differently?: Could've turned on the gas a bit more. Running's my weak spot, so I really held back. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Better transistion than T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing...went OK. ![]() Run
Comments: Nice and overcast, could've been much hotter. I walked the second and third water stations (30 sec. each) and walked for a minute on the second bridge climb at mile five. Had one caffeinated Clif Shot at the 3.1 mile turnaround. What would you do differently?: Keep training! ![]() Post race
Warm down: Hydrate, eat! What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing that more training and experience won't help. Event comments: My first Tri, ever, so I have nothing to compare against, but it was a lot of fun w/ tons of volunteers and food, water, etc. Great time! Last updated: 2012-06-20 12:00 AM

None except the 100y swim from the ferry to the island.
