Swim
Comments: I could not get into a rythem. everything I would get going good, I would either run up on another swimer, or get squeezeplayed by a swimmer on either side. my goal was for this swim to be uneventful, with no kicks to the face, or googles knocke off, so I was a little more deliberate in my sighting, and my positioning. What would you do differently?: I would start more at the front. I was only on the third row, at the wade start, but apparently all of the swimmers on the outside got into a 2 yard wide streach by the first bouy. Transition 1
Comments: This was what felt like a huge Transition. I was gassed at the end of the swim, and the long run to the bike, zapped me even further. Transition was n a fresh cut field, so there was a lot of grass I had problems getting off of my feet. What would you do differently?: Pack a towel to wipe off feet, and to stand on. Bike
Comments: Needed to look over the bike a bit better, had gear problems, and it seemed only one gear would stick on the rear derailure, and that one was just a bit harder than I would have liked. Hear rate was bouncing off of 160 the entire ride. What would you do differently?: Make sure bike is in best condition possible. Transition 2
Comments: Fairly uneventful T2, just a really big layout. Run
Comments: Run was HOT I hav cooling issues from mile 1. HR maxed at 184. was real close to loosing it a couple times, but when I looked at the garmin, and noticed hr over 180, I knew it was time to slow down. What would you do differently?: Train more, train more in the heat, do more brick workouts. Post race
Warm down: Ot my medal and water bottle, chugged the cold water, Kissed my wife, and hugged my 3 yr old. then plopped down in an ICE bath! Rock on! What limited your ability to perform faster: HEAT. Heat was what really got me. I could say lack of training, but that would be every race. I never think I train enough. Event comments: I've always heard good things about onurmark, but this was the first time to experience it. extremely well put toghether and organized. I will be back! I don't think I could find anything negative about the entire experience, and that is a giant compliment comming from me, considering I an on a commitee for a charity bike ride, and can be overly critical.
