Swim
Comments: Told myself to go out easy, of course I went out harder and had to take a second to catch my breath again about 200 yards into the race. Then I found my pace and felt good. What would you do differently?: not go out hard- warm up Transition 1
Comments: ok, but should have been faster. Struggled with one leg on the wetsuit Bike
Comments: This is my weakness, I could tell today. Normally I get passed by a few people- wow I got passed by tons today. Different racing in the championships than in a local AG race for sure. Everyone is fast here. What would you do differently?: While I enjoy riding, I should do more bike workouts- not just go ride 50-100 miles on the weekend- have a purpose. Although- that sounds like work Transition 2
Comments: fine- no real issues here Run
Comments: I ws getting cramps in both quads if I pushed the pace much faster, so I settled into about a 7 min. mile. I really wanted to go about 6:45, but it was not to be today. When I got done I had a bloody heel- guess I got a blister from the back of my shoe and it rubbed it a little too long. Strange- never had that before. Post race
Warm down: talked to some friends, family, went and had a couple adult beverages and some lunch. Event comments: This is a great race- AG race or Championships. For the money (about the same as some very average local races) it is head and shoulders above anything else I have done. Only other race that comes close is Malibu Triathlon- but you get a lot more swag at this event. Last updated: 2012-06-21 12:00 AM

didn't sleep great, up at 4:30- got dressed, had a poptart and a bottle of water and went to catch the hotel shuttle to the race. Got transition set up, visited with some others, checked in with the family. Nice to be able to go off before 7. Seems like I am always waiting an hour or two before my wave.
none- would like to have swam, but didn't see that happening
