Swim
  • 12m 4s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim today. Stayed with people from my wave during the entire swim. No anxiety today in the open water like I had here last year. Much improved swim from last year.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I did swim a little faster than what I am used to but had a good finishing time.
Transition 1
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

Good T1. No unecessary things to slow me down.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. Had a good clean transition.
Bike
  • 41m 2s
  • 12 miles
  • 17.55 mile/hr
Comments:

Really pushed the bike hard today with a goal of 40 minutes or less. Ended up just over 41 mins so I was happy with that. Course had some pretty good hills though. Ended up burning my legs pretty good on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Ended up making it close to my goal time on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 53s
Comments:

Another pretty quick transition. Probably could have been a bit quicker.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 32m 39s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Pushed the bike hard today and paid for it on the run. Legs were very fatigued for the run. Was not able to sustain a good pace for any amount of time. Had to stop several times to walk and rest.
What would you do differently?:

More brick workouts during training to get my legs used to running after pushing the bike hard.
Post race
Warm down:

Some stretching and hanging out with family.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Definetly the 5K. I ended up training through the race this week so my legs really weren't fresh for todays race but wouldn't change that.

Event comments:

Very good race. Well organized, on time, lots of volunteers, well marked courses, and excellent family friendly post race activities. Will continue to put this one on the calendar every year. And best of all a PR today!
