Overall Rank = 488/1542

Age Group Rank = 55/153
Pre-race routine:

Ate (2) Packets of Oatmeal and Gatorade G2.

Swim
  • 32m 35s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim felt very comfortable and came out feeling very good. No cramping. Swim was with the current except for the turn in which came in 45deg accross the current. I did not plan for that and took more time than should have to ge in from there. Looking at my overall rank.. I prol should have pushed more.
What would you do differently?:

Draft/pace a faster swimmer. Plan better for crossing current.
Transition 1
  • 03m 52s
Comments:

Forgot my race belt and pinned my run bib to my tri top (which did not swim with). Was near impossible to get on after the swim so took way too much time struggling with it. Otherwise had bike setup with all I needed and helmet/glasses went on quick. Ran out of T1 w/ bike with my shoes on and clopped in at start.
What would you do differently?:

Do not pin number to tri top. Maybe wear during the swim next time.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 18s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.34 mile/hr
Comments:

First loop had the hammer down on the decents until the last hill where I was mid-30MPH and came up on slow traffic and a narrow stone underpass which almost went really bad. Was way more careful on the downhills after that. Also was a few potholes hidden in the tree shadows and expansion joints. A lot of flats. Water exchange saw many bottles in the road that were not actively being cleared. I took one in the back wheel but was ok.
What would you do differently?:

More vocal when passing on left. Forgot to bring flat kit which could have cost me.
Transition 2
  • 03m 58s
Comments:

Decided to run w/o my Tri Top so had to move run bib to shorts. Forgot to bring my hydration pack but did not really need it. Had to pee.. but think could of held on.
What would you do differently?:

bring race belt!
Run
  • 49m 1s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt very good off the bike and into the run. Settled into a high-7sec pace and felt very comfortable. Killed it at the end with a sub-5 sec pace the last hundred yards or so. I could have gone faster. Had 2 gels and 3 cups G2 and 6 cups water.
What would you do differently?:

Faster pace.
Post race
Event comments:

Very nice race venue. Closed roads on bike course which was nice. Swim was point 2 point in warm water.
