Pre-race routine:

Did this race with my wife (her first sprint). Got up around 5:30, drove to the site, got unloaded and set up my transition. Checked out hers and then we walked around a bit. Had another couple doing their first tri together so we talked with them for a while. Had a powerbar and a G1.
Event warmup:

Got into the water (wow it was warm) and did about 100 yard warmup. Picked out a spot to sight for the swim.

This is my weakest segment, and I am really shocked that my pace was 7:03. My first mile was close to 9 minutes according to my Garmin. I think the course was shy of 3.1 miles.

Waited for my wife and friends to come across the line.

Event comments:

This is a great race since it is only 10 minutes from my house. It also allows me to try some different things out.
