Swim
Comments: This was not a good swim for me. Never felt right. Didn't feel tired or out of breath either. Just out of sorts. What would you do differently?: More swim training. Transition 1
Comments: Not a good transition. I'm usually one of the faster people. Gave up too much time here. This did include a run to transition and I was way far away from the bike exit. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Focus more? Bike
Comments: Had a tight hammy for the first lap. It loosened up and I pushed hard for lap 2. What would you do differently?: Don't know. Transition 2
Comments: This would have been faster if the transition area wasn't so large. What would you do differently?: Run faster Run
Comments: Strangely, this was my best ever ranking for my run. Can't complain. Handled the hills really well, and finished better than most. What would you do differently?: Run harder, and take less time at the water station. Post race
Warm down: Got a lot of fluids and just kept drinking. Then watched my daughter run the kids run. She ran 2 races in 2 days. Pretty good for a 6 yo. Finished 3rd in Missouri and 5th in KC. But both were for fun. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Just wasn't feeling that fast. Too much travel and walking around, combined with not eating great. Legs felt heavy. Event comments: This was a great run local race. I would do it again in a heart beat. They seemed to really care more about the event than the profits. Common theme in Kansas City. I had a great time and may look to return again some day. Last updated: 2012-06-26 12:00 AM

Got up early and went to the race site. No breakfast, just kept hydrating as the previous day it was 107 degrees. Set up transition and talked to some of the locals about the course.
No real warm-up. You had to swim from the boat dock to the beach, about 100 yrds. Did a few short runs to get the legs moving.
