Swim
Comments: I was very nervous about the swim, and had a little bit of panic about 50 meters into it, but it quickly subsided and went about my business. I didn't get hit by other swimmers too much, and actually found that a lot of the other people in my wave were swimming a bit wide, so by staying close to the buoy line I had an OK amount of space. Hit some rocks on the bottom on the way into shore. The distance did not feel nearly as hard as I thought it would. What would you do differently?: It was by far my longest open water swim, and I was really just concentrating on surviving! Next time I'll focus more on actually swimming fast. Transition 1
Comments: Dropped my goggles and cap while running and just decided to leave them. Otherwise went well, I run with my bike shoes on, no flying mount. Everything went smoothly and was on my way. What would you do differently?: Need a better plan on how to quickly get the 2 piece suit off while not losing all my accessories! :) Bike
Comments: Amazing bike course. Couldn't ask for better road conditions. The hills were not nearly as bad as some people had suggested, although they will likely sting a lot more for the 140.6 folks who have to do them twice. What would you do differently?: Nothing, was very happy with the ride. Transition 2
Comments: Uneventful, went OK. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Hit the wall big time at about the 9km mark. I need to examine my race nutrition to see where I can try to prevent the leg cramps and bonk. I walked through most of the feed stations to try to cool off, and jogged the rest, felt terrible. What would you do differently?: Better nutrition plan earlier in the race. Post race
Warm down: I was wasted at the finish. I found a bench to sit on and pretty much stared at the ground for 20 minutes before I could move. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need better nutrition plan, and of course, more training. Event comments: The race was fantastic (other than my run...). The venue, course, volunteers, all were great. Last updated: 2012-06-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4AM, started drinking 2 cups of coffee and at 1.5 bagels. Walked down to body marking for 5AM and then got transition set up. Went back to hotel room and chilled out, used washroom, then headed to the swim start around 6:15.
Not a whole lot. Got in the water for 10 minutes to get comfortable, swam probably no more than 100 meters. Probably should have done a little more.
