Swim
Comments: Short swim, so nothing atypical about the time. Just the usual. Too difficult to really find a steady rhythm so it's more or less just swim it and get out. I only really worry about my actual pace on longer swims when pace means something. Transition 1
Comments: Transition about 100 yds from swim exit. Very nice transition area, by the way. Grassy, no massive grassy hills to run down (like we usually have at Stonebridge). Bike
Comments: Used the roadie on this course because I still feel a lack of power on the tri-bike and I still can't figure it out. Since I road this course recently for King Tut I wanted to be able to compare the two to see if there really was a difference or if I was just feeling different on the two bikes. Well, the times speak for themselves. I am much faster on the road bike, and it's a cheapo entri-level Trek as compared to my Felt S22 tri-bike. So something is amiss, and it wasn't until I did the MS 150 at the end of May that I eventually figured it out. Transition 2
Comments: Simple transition. Nothing remarkable. Run
Comments: Solid run, blew away my group. About 1/2 mile into it was passed by another runner who seemed to be running a fast but doable pace, so I locked onto her heels and just matched her stride for stride. It was tough running, but fast, and I was able to hang. She definitely helped me with the pacing and was the reason I won the group. Thanks. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Short swim, road bike Event comments: Good sprint race, and the start at Adriatic tower is a nice change of pace from the usual Stonebridge races. Last updated: 2012-06-26 12:00 AM
