Swim
Comments: Crowded swim. Tried to stay on the inside edge. Should have worn wetsuit, as I think it makes me ~10 seconds per 100m faster, and only takes 15-20 seconds to remove. This short of a swim doesn't have much risk of me overheating from the suit. Transition 1
Comments: Slow because I had to put on socks as I had a wound on my right heel that the shoes would further hurt. Bike
Comments: Felt pretty good, found myself losing concentration from time to time on the straight stretches. Need to focus better. Transition 2
Run
Comments: At the start, had some wheezing/trouble breathing. Once that calmed, it felt pretty smooth. I need to push myself so there's nothing left in the tank at the end. Overall, I feel I spent too much of the bike and run portion of the race on cruise control. Post race
Warm down: Enjoyed hearing how Doug, Rob, and Ben's race went, and chatted with some other racers too. Enjoyed the cold towel and refreshments. Then off to Doug's for our celebratory post-race steak grill-out. There's nothing better than getting together with a group of old friends and spending a weekend like this! Hope we can keep doing it year to year. Event comments: The folks who put on this race do a wonderful job, especially for the size of the race. Last updated: 2012-07-02 12:00 AM

Up early at Doug's for Clif Bar and Powerade. To the site in plenty of time for decent transition spot and quick run/swim warm ups.
