Pre-race routine:

Getting T2 set up, enjoying the atmosphere!
Event warmup:

No real warm-up, just got into the water as soon as my heat was allowed. Checked goggles for leaks, fogging, etc.
Swim
  • 23m 50s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 27s / 100 yards
Comments:

At one point I realized there weren't many people around me--I looked up and found I had drifted too far right so I had to angle back into the group, No real harm done.
What would you do differently?:

Stayed much further to the left with the main group
Transition 1
  • 05m 34s
Comments:

I forgot to pin my number on the tank top I pulled on after the swim so I tucked it into my wetsuit and had to pin it on during transition. No biggie, but that took up some time.
What would you do differently?:

Pinned the darn number on!
Bike
  • 1h 19m 33s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.74 mile/hr
Comments:

LOVED the bike course! I feel like I have become a pretty darn strong cyclist. I passed many, many people on the uphills, felt great and powerful!
What would you do differently?:

Pushed a little harder to hit 19+ mph average
Transition 2
  • 03m 46s
Comments:

Decent transition, but started to leave and realized I forgot my fuel belt and had to zip back to get it.
What would you do differently?:

Not forget fuel belt!
Run
  • 1h 01m 29s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Surprisingly I loved the run too! I felt great--started slow. The first part was a pretty steep uphill--I ran it while many walked. Just felt better and better throughout the whole run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing! Pushed a little harder maybe? So proud I didn't walk a single step.
Post race
Warm down:

Hit the docks at the park and jumped back into the Snake! It felt sooooo amazing!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics :-)

Event comments:

Can't wait to do this one again! It was an absolute BLAST!
