Swim
Comments: I hadn't done any swimming since before my honeymoon two weeks earlier, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought I was faster than this and I FELT faster in the water, so who knows. I was hoping to keep it around 17min total, but oh well. What would you do differently?: Swim more, swim more, swim more.....oh and learn how to swim properly. Transition 1
Comments: It's a long uphill run from the swim exit to Transition, so I didn't think I did too bad. Nothing went wrong. I took a few seconds to wipe the mud/dirt from my feet before putting the bike shoes on. What would you do differently?: learn how to jump on bike with shoes already clipped in. Bike
Comments: I felt like I was going faster than I did, but that was probably because I was in the next to last wave and was passing just about everyone else. Because of honeymoon I hadn't done a lot of riding and was pleased with the ride overall. What would you do differently?: Just ride more...could have done more riding on the cruise ship than I did...at least staionairy bike. No mechanical issues, stayed upright...it was a good ride! Transition 2
Comments: I don't like the small little uphill and speed bump before the stop line so I didn't take my feet out of my shoes. Probably cost me a few seconds but oh well. I did run with and find my rack easily though. What would you do differently?: Just get better at getting shoes out of feet while going slightly uphill Run
Comments: I felt good the entire run and didn't feel tired at all....thanks to all the running I've been doing. I ran up the hill the full way and didn't stop at all. Only got passed by one or two people. Didn't think I was going this fast...so cheers to me! I had run just over 9 miles the previous day with a really hard kick at the end so I was very pleased with the run. What would you do differently?: Just keep losing weight and keep getting faster Post race
Warm down: walked around the post race area with my new ice cold water bottle. Also had a nice post race beer...thank you new belgium brewing! What limited your ability to perform faster: maybe the long run the day before took a little out of me, but I still improved my time from the last time I did this race by over 13min so I'm feeling pretty good. Event comments: Another great race by the High Five event folks. The weather wasn't too hot and there was a little shade on the run course...thank goodness. Great race and a good test to see how my training is doing after my honeymoon. Texas Tri Series is half way done. Last updated: 2012-07-11 12:00 AM

Woke up a little late, so skipped the warm shower, got dressed put bike in car drove the few miles to the race site, flat tire on bike...not again..got great mechanics from J&A to fix flat and set up tranisition... After flat was fixed it was an uneventful morning.
Just some strecthing. They had yoga before the national anthem but that was a long time before my wave
