Swim
Comments: First time I have ever won my AG in a swim! Someone did beat me but they were pulled into the OA so it counts me as first. Hilarious. Decent swim. I sighted pretty well and had a decent run up the beach. Course must have been short though. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Same time as last year. Not sure where to improve without skipping the socks. Bike
Comments: Avg 225w. No one was very close to me, but I didn't lose or gain much ground relative to the front group. Tried to push the whole time, but was having a tough time going any harder. At one point I passed a roadie not part of the race and he came back by me offering to pull me for a bit and "give my legs a rest"! I thanked him but explained that it was against the rules. Pretty funny. Transition 2
Comments: fine What would you do differently?: nothing. Run
Comments: Course was obviously short. First mile was ~6:15 and the second mile was ~4:50. Clearly off. It is so annoying and I feel it must be deliberate a this point. They changed the course this year so they had to re-measure and there are 3 out and backs so there is nothing restricting the course to a set distance. Felt ok. Didn't feel like I could have run any faster, but probably could have held that pace (or close to it) for the full 3.11 allowing me an opportunity to get into the top-10. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Cheered on other runners and hung out with Karen. Had some food and then they went through the awards quickly so we could get back to the house relatively early. What limited your ability to perform faster: ? Event comments: Not a bad little race. We have done it several years now and it's got a cool vibe, reasonably priced, fun course, etc. Last updated: 2012-07-11 12:00 AM

Came into town Friday night so we had to get up really early so we could do packet pickup in the morning and get all racked. Athlete emails said racks were first come first serve, but it turns out the first 2 rows are assigned. I don't usually mind and it's kind of a nice perk, but was a bit annoyed that they didn't start assigning spots (putting the stickers on the rack) until after I took the end spot and set everything up. So I had to wait around for them to finish and then re-do everything. Oh well.
Swam out to buoys for start.
