Swim
Comments: There was a minute during the swim that I was beginning to think I signed up for an underwater boxing match instead of triathlon. Every three seconds based on bib number might not be best idea. However, the swim would have been rough for me even if I were the only one in the lake that day. Much work has to be done on my swim. What would you do differently?: Floats and snorkel? I will spend the off season working hard on my swim. "I will see you again next year Bonita Lake!" Transition 1
Comments: T1 went well. I was tired after swim and walked first 20yds out of lake (waisted seconds). Sat down to dry feet and put socks on (more waisted seconds). Other than that it was clean for me. What would you do differently?: Just speed it up a little Bike
Comments: Fellow racers told me weeks leading up to this race "It's all about the bike hills." Looking back I see these hills were front loaded. I thought I was in trouble when I left the park, took a right, and was staring right at a long, slow hill. I could could 30 racers going up it. It looked like they were not moving. Soon I joined the crowd at 7mph for what felt like an hour. The good thing about going 7mph on an out and back course? 43mph going down it on the way back! Transition 2
Comments: I thought that I would have been a little faster here. But I am good with 1:22 Run
Comments: Although the time does not show, I thought the run was great. My race plan was to only walk the aid stations if needed. I was not prepared to pass seven aid stations in a 5k. Seven? Yes, SEVEN. What would you do differently?: Next year I will make sure to change my plan to "Only walk ONE aid station if needed." Post race
Warm down: Casual walking, packing up and getting bike to car. Showers were a great idea. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me. I need to loose a few pounds and focus on the swim this off season Event comments: Race was great. Volunteers were the best I have seen. Post race food was disappointing. The last thing I had eaten was at 4:00. I was starved when race was complete. You had your choice of greasy chicken or greasy pizza. The line of cars with Tri bikes at Chic Fil a makes me think I am not the only one thinking that. Last updated: 2012-07-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:15 since I had a two hour drive ahead of me. Everything packed the night before. A bagel, banana, chocolate milk, and coffee and I was out the door. Picked up friend and off to race! Got into transition at 5:50.
I got in a 100 yd swim prior to race.
