Run
Comments: Using unofficial timing average from phone and watch. Not sure what happened with my timing chip. The plan was to sit with the 3:25 marathon pace group to keep from starting too fast and then gradually pushing the pace after the opening 5k. I carried 1.5 shotblok packs with me for nutrition, and didn't stop for any hydration as I trained to not need it (always have bad luck getting drinks from volunteers while on the move). What would you do differently?: I kept getting caught up in the water stops and would have to break stride to avoid the masses. I should have stayed in the center since I knew I wouldn't stop for any drinks. Finishing the last 1+ miles in sub-7min pace was awesome, but I could have used that energy to lower my average pace across the other miles to save more time. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, talked with my wife and mom for a coule of minutes before heading out to breakfast to celebrate a PR. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bouts with tendonitis in both legs limited training efforts over the last 8 weeks. Event comments: Beside being really crowded at the start, this race is awesome. Last updated: 2012-07-21 12:00 AM

Woke up around 4:30, had PB&J waffles, a glass of orange juice and stretched.
Walked to the starting corrals and waited. Did some light stretching and talked with the people around me.
