Swim
Comments: wetsuit legal swim compare to the last two years that werent. the swim was in a lake and the water is kind of dirty, but it was a good swim nonethless. lots of buoys out there up until the first yellow buoy and after that it was about 75m until the next one which is pretty good. PR the swim by 21 mins compare to last year and took off 2-3 mins compare to my personal olympic best. What would you do differently?: none. i couldnt believe my swim. extremely happy Transition 1
Comments: had a great T1. only problem was the jersey getting stuck again, but im still very happy about the time. What would you do differently?: none. again very happy with my time Bike
Comments: 2 look course, flat and fast. this course has no coasting so even though it's a fast course you have to work the whole 25 miles. there are courses where you dont have to use a lot of energy while pedaling. this is not the case here. What would you do differently?: there's really not much i can do better. PR by 59 secs so i have to be happy. Transition 2
Comments: i killed T2. came off the bike running. rack the bike, socks on, shoes on and grab my hat, belt and watch and off i went out of t2. PR this as well What would you do differently?: none. kicked butt Run
Comments: i thought i went out too fast and at the half way point i thought i would crash. the course is flat. some slight inclines here and there. but, nothing to worry about. aid stations had water, heed and wet towels and one aid station had a bag of ice What would you do differently?: none, had a great run. PR this as well Post race
Warm down: grab some water. didnt grab any food. waited until i got home to eat. went back to transition and packed up and got out of there What limited your ability to perform faster: none, PR by 35 mins compare to last year and PR by 20 mins my best olympic race Event comments: very good triathlon. usually gets very hot and we got lucky this year. great begineer's triathlon due to the flat course. even though it's usually not wetsuit legal, it's still a great first race. woke up at 415am and had a half of a bagel with peanut butter and a piece of homemade zucchini bread (yum). some water and it was off to transition at around 530 am. setup transition in 30 mins and im very happy to say that i hardly have anything on my mat compare to last year.
it was wetsuit legal compare to the last two years and a lot cooler than last year. warmup was getting in the water and swimming 20 yards out and coming back and hanging around for 45 mins since i was in the second to last wave.
