Run
Comments: Run was second so I will do this first. Got out of the water to a quick T1 and saw Matt and Julia. Wow, I can believe I got out with them. They got out of T1 before me. Started the run easy. First mile 6:50. Had a serious side cramp, again, like last year. I don't have this problem in Tri's so I don't kow what is up. It subsided a bit after I slowed way down going down the back hill. Was able to pick it up a bit and then the wind and hill hit me. I slowed way down again. after the hill I picked up the pace and felt real good. I wish I had felt like that for the whole run. Poor run! I can't remember the last time I went over 21 minutes in a 5k. Maybe I will take some Ibuprophen the next race to relax the muscles. What would you do differently?: Run better. Transition 1
Comments: Suit off and shoes on were good. Number belt sunglasses and hat. Swim time includes T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing Swim
Comments: Good swim for me however I had noone to draft off. I did have 2 guys drafting me the entire time and they beat me out of the water. So I get to the last bouy and some lady is floating on her back. I didn't see her and I totally t-boned her. I sat up and both hammies cramp up immediatly. I was on my back for a good 15 seconds and decided to start swimming. They loosened up pretty well. I kicked hard at the end so they didn't crapm again when I stood up. No problems. They are still sore today however. What would you do differently?: Find someone to draft off of. Transition 2
