Swim
Comments: I boogered this up. Once the gunshot went off my adrenaline went through the roof and I led the pack. The weird part was I noticed I was in front and then looked behinde me saw this massive school of people just waiting to run me over. I slowed down and got out of the way. I was unsure if I could maintain the speed at which I was going. What would you do differently?: Maintained my speed at all cost without using up all of my energy before the bike. Transition 1
Comments: People need to learn that the transition area is not the area to just stand there and brag about how good their swim was. I had to tell about 5 ladies to get out of my way becasue they were right in the middle of my area. What would you do differently?: I need shoes that atrap and not lace Bike
Comments: I did better on the bike than my first tri on Camp pendleton. Aerobars really made a difference on leg power What would you do differently?: More training on the bike. This is where I lack the time to train in. Transition 2
Comments: My legs were very tight so I walked out of the transition, slowly gaining speed until they could stretch enough to run. Same as before, people just hanging out. Run
Comments: This was a good run, a little slow but good. The sun came out and it got hot really quick, especially after the turnaround with no wind in your face. What would you do differently?: Kill it! I had alot of reserved energy after the run that I could have definately used. Next race, I am gonna puch for a 6 minute mile and destroy the legs! Post race
Warm down: Beer and ice What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough training Event comments: Good race and will probably race the Olympic next year. Last updated: 2012-07-30 12:00 AM

Woke up around 4:30 am. Had a couple cereal bars and a Camelbak electrolyte tab. Took a cold shower, drank some coffee to jumpstart the digestive system (yea we all do it) Double checked my gear bag and bike for everything. My wave didnt start until 9am and the tranition opened at 6am. I like to be early so that if any thing happens or for some reason I am missing something I have a buffer of time I can use. There were only a couple early risers for the military sprint and that made for some good conversation. A fellow swimmer that I see in the pool all the time just happened to be staged right next to me. It nice to see familiar faces.
Well....there wasnt a warmup. I kinda just jumped in the water and said my prayers.
