Swim
Comments: Felt great during the swim. Started right on buoy line although the buoys on the course had drifted way outside. Most everyone swam inside the bouys but outside the kayakers. Held my line throughout race, swam hard-ish and felt good. What would you do differently?: swim more. :) Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good for me. wetsuit off, quick w/ shoes, helmet and glasses. Bike
Comments: Most folks mentioned bike course was long - more like 12.4 or so. Pushed hard whole way - passed a few chicks, lots of boys from earlier waves and played leapfrog w/ the woman who won Grand Master. Lost my brand spankin new sunglasses. damn. Legs felt pretty good considering LP was last weekend. Transition 2
Comments: great work here :) Run
Comments: Went out hard and tried to keep pace. I got dusted big time by 4 girls - like I was standing still. My run still needs work but I was glad I was able to maintain a decent pace for myself. Certainly not in the 7's but definitely in the mid- high 8's I believe. Post race
Warm down: lots of water - it was very hot and humid! Waited around for awards, chatted w/ friends. Got 1st AG 2nd year in a row. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: My run. IMLP 6 days prior. Event comments: My goal was to finish the race in less time than my IMLP swim time of 1:15, which was also my finishing time for this race last year. Glad to shave 6 minutes off my time. :) Last updated: 2012-08-01 12:00 AM
