Swim
Comments: Felt OK, didn't push it too much. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I definitely had a fun time bombing around the neighborhood on my bike, but as expected I didn't really tear the course up given my lack of bike training as of late. What would you do differently?: Get some more bike training in. Its kind of hard given that my focus is on a marathon on sept 30th. Transition 2
Comments: I took some extra time to wipe pebbles off the bottom of my feel since I felt them during the entire bike leg. Run
Comments: Definitely felt I pushed this as hard as I could. Happy with the result - my fastest 5k in a tri to date... Post race
Event comments: 1st place 40-44 M AG, 8th overall for the race, so I was pleased. Well run race as usual. They messed up my swim time but allowed me to start way up in the line. I mentioned to the organizers that my high bib number put me at a disadvantage to others of similar abilities due to the configuration of the transition area. The fix for that was to alter the swim-out such that everyone had to run down a ways before coming back to their bikes, which I felt was fair. Although, this was a big change from years' past (you can blame it on me!) Last updated: 2012-08-03 12:00 AM
