Comments: Brutal winds and rain. On the way out, I was holding 27 mph for some stretches with little effort. After the turn around it was time to pay the piper, and I struggled to hit 17 mph into the headwind and rain, more like 12 on the uphills. Comments: I was hurting badly but survived it. Considered dropping out, but just kept going. Post race
Warm down: Gorged myself on the post-race meal: lasagne, potatoes, rice, salad, cookies, bagels, pop, juice. Then went comatose for the afternoon. What limited your ability to perform faster: fitness and energy Event comments: I probably bit off more than I could chew with this one. The field was incredibly fast, with the top time just over 3 hours. I guess I am proud that I finished it. There were 13 DNFs on the run, almost 1/10 of the field. Last updated: 2012-08-06 12:00 AM
