What would you do differently?: next know the swim course Transition 1
Comments: What a difference practice makes, t1 under 1 minute. First race I tried with shoes on bike and it paid off. What would you do differently?: none Bike
Comments: All right first I will say that #1 rule is know the course. Me and another rider made the course 2.2 miles longer due to missed turn. So I did 20.2 miles instead of 18. But, what makes me angry is that the volunteer sitting at the corner never told us to turn. Me and this other rider were the only on the road. In fact we went by second station by a volunteer again and police officer. We found are way back and continued but I lost 6 minutes due to this What would you do differently?: Know the course. My 2.2 mile mistake cost me 6 minutes. I checked my mileage and at 18 miles I was at 52.16 vs 58.25. In a short race like this that is a lot of time to make up. I would have been 1st in my age bracket. but i nearly averaged 21 mph for the 20 miles so I am happy with that Transition 2
Comments: once again under 1 minute. just put on yankz on my running shoes about 2 weeks ago, what a difference What would you do differently?: none Run
Comments: Finally had a good run after the bike. My best 3 mile run after a bike in a sprint was 28 minutes. All my training paying off. Felt a little stiff for about first 1/2 mile then was off and passing people left and right. Definately made up some time here. Under 7 minute miles What would you do differently?: I could have pushed myself a little harder, but overall pleased Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a while and talked w/ some friends What limited your ability to perform faster: 2 extra miles on the bike 20 vs 18 killed me. cost me 1st in my age group and would have been in top 10 overall Event comments: I liked the course, the bike was really rough as they are tearing up the road. Next year should be nice. I did like the race (only sprint I will do this year) but I am still angry at volunteers for not helping with direction and allowing me to go off course. But ultimately that was my fault. Last updated: 2006-05-30 12:00 AM
