Swim
Comments: Many racers put wrong times down which resulted in a few log jams. Passing for some was difficult as swimmers trying to pass sometimes ran into oncoming swimmers going the other way. My grouping was decent although I did pass 3 people as well. What would you do differently?: Not forget my goggles. Was lucky enough to have borrowed a pair from another guy near my transition set-up. Transition 1
Comments: Decided to jog from pool to bike (walked my first race) and ditched the socks and gloves for this race. After locating the guys area (who loaned me the goggles) and leaving the goggles at his area, I quickly wiped feet on towel, took other towel and dried off a little. Put on shoes (running), put on top, put on shades, put on helmet, and jogged out. What would you do differently?: Have my own goggles so that I don't have to waste time delivering a loaner pair. Bike
Comments: Was pleased that I almost reached 18 avg. since my first race several weeks ago I was just under 16. Trained indoors and on the road with more hills. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I will continue to work on the bike as I have been. Transition 2
Comments: All I had to do was get the bike back to rack, take off helmet and shades, and off I went - jogging slow until my bike legs turned back into running legs. Pulled out a gel and grabbed a water to down it on the way out. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Surprised I did as well as I did running with no useful ACL's, Posterior Tibial tendon tear, Degenerative Medial Meniscus tear, and hardly any knee cartilidge. Didnt feel any meniscus pain so I pushed it a little since it was only 2 miles. After mile one I really felt good so picked it up more. Plenty of volunteers and water. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Water, walk around, stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: The aforementioned knee and ankle issues. Event comments: For a mini this was a maxi good time. Will likely return next year. Last updated: 2012-08-07 12:00 AM

Coffee. Checked in and scoped out the trans. area - got numbered. Got my wife and Mother situated then went to set up trans. area. Changed into tri shorts and top. Stretched, waited, stretched, waited ...
stretched, waited, stretches, waited. Downed a gel about 30min before my scheduled swim time and did more stretches.
