Comments: Short swim, sprinted almost entire distance, got really bunched up at turn around. Water was cold but so short wetsuit was not needed. What would you do differently?: Start at front. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition but too long putting on socks which ended up wet anyways. What would you do differently?: Practice going without socks to save time. Bike
Comments: Was in the lead pack at the start of the bike. Volunteers directed us the wrong way. Ended up adding another 1.4 miles to my route along with a number of minutes we were cruising around trying to find the proper route. Once back on the route was able to catch & pass a lot of people. Was not fully prepared for the amount of hills. What would you do differently?: Memorize the course map. Transition 2
Comments: Made pretty quick T2, started out a few steps forgot my helmet was on, took it off and threw it back to my area. What would you do differently?: Get a better number belt, pinned my number to my spi-belt but it ended up ripping the number. Had to reattach while running. Run
Comments: Only aid station was at turn around at 1.5 miles, was expecting one somewhere between there and leaving T2. What would you do differently?: Carry water or take big drink from bike bottle before leaving T2 Post race
Warm down: Walked around few minutes, ate half banana and had some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Missing the turn adding to the bike. Was unable to pace myself correctly on bike not knowing how much further I actually had to go. Event comments: Must have missed the awards ceremony as saw pictures of it but never actually saw it. Woke up at 5:15am, had bagel thin with peanut butter. Let at 6am, Drove to Connellsville from outside Pittsburgh, hour drive. Drove around Connellsville trying to find start arrived at 7:15am, picked up packet and took a nap in the car until 8am.
Quick bike ride down and back on GAP to get legs warmed up.
