Comments: started off and was right where I wanted to be at each of the first 5K points. I thought this would put in a good place to go faster the second half of the race which I did but it didn't get me the over all time I had hoped for BUT still PR-ed by 24 seconds. What would you do differently?: Not sure, there was not much left in the tank at the finish line and I think if I had picked the pace up earlier I would of not been in a good place to finish liked I did Post race
Warm down: 10 minute easy run and some light stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: my low back tightened up some during the last half of the course as well as my right hip and during the last mile both calves started to cramp. The calf issue very well could be due to the new racing flats. The was noticeable but not bothersome or painful. Event comments: ok race for 30 bucks. my watch time was a few seconds faster and I started it when the gun went off and when I entered the racing shoot. They used manual timing. Arrived to the race 2 1/2 hours early, had a pop-tart 2 hours prior to start and a package of sport beans 30 minute.
After my normal stretches, I did a 20 minute warm-up that included 5 X 100 meter strides after the 10 minute mark.
