Swim
Comments: Maintained a steady pace throughout swim. Did not push too hard and felt good coming out of water. What would you do differently?: More swim training. Transition 1
Comments: Number belt came apart during T1 so I had to re-thread the strap. That ate some time. Also, transition was very crowded and my neighbors bike kept falling over into my area. What would you do differently?: Pick a better rack. Bike
Comments: Got passed a lot. Realized during the first turn I had left my brake lever open when re-attaching my front tire. What would you do differently?: Don't do a tough workout before a race. My thighs were still sore from front squats three days prior. Transition 2
Comments: Almost fell over my bike when getting off b/c my foot didn't come out of the pedal. Luckily I caught myself. Still loving the zip laces. Run
Comments: I know I went easy on the run. I stayed within my comfort zone, right up to the edge of it. I didn't want to slog through the run. Don't know how people run faster. I got passed a lot. What would you do differently?: Need to run more and get lighter. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight. I felt my level of effort was good. I want to perform faster at that level. Event comments: A very friendly and supportive race. Started 30 min. late this year because they had parking issues and didn't want to leave athletes out who couldn't park - a good reason to be late. Overall it's a very well run event. Lots of volunteers and very organized but still with a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended for newbies. Last updated: 2012-08-13 12:00 AM
