Pre-race routine:

Lots of traffic getting into the park for some reason. quickie setup and registration.
Event warmup:

just a quick swim - maybe 200 yds
Swim
  • 09m 31s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

probably my best swim here yet.
What would you do differently?:

swim faster.
Transition 1
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Haven't tried jumping on the bike since missing the pedal and falling flat on my ass at Lake T a few weeks back.
What would you do differently?:

T's are slow with the tie shoes. think velcro would make the biggest improvement here. just need some funds.
Bike
  • 27m 50s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 10.71 mile/hr
Comments:

Top half of bikers !! Making very good improvements here.
What would you do differently?:

Just keep on doing better at all the things i did better at this week.
Transition 2
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

T's are definitely where i could pick up some time, probably a minute overall or more between T1 and T2.
What would you do differently?:

practice.
Run
  • 28m 18s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 06s  min/mile
Comments:

Not a bad run. But there are really 129 people out there doing better than a 9' mile? Man, there are a lot of good runners, or they are all just saving it for the run.
What would you do differently?:

I'm getting there. It looks like i still have to knock another minute off of my pace just to get in the top 50% of run times. Lots more work to do. But i've made really good progress this year on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

shower and boogie on home. no dinner @ the wood'n tap tonite.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overall, performance was very good. I've made really good progress this year. Very happy :)

Event comments:

Last one of the season for me. I missed the very last one, but it was a great season at Winding Trails. Love this race !!

Best bike time of the year. Made a lot of passes, got passed some too. but it was a really good ride even tho my chain was rubbing against the front derailuir the whole time.

Here's where i fell off a bit from the previous week. Still an improvement over most of my previous runs, but i was cramping a little bit on the hill out of T2, so it slowed me down. Overall still a very good run for me. Tho, there are a lot of much speedier peeps out on that winding trail.
