Swim
Comments: Very good group of swimmers this year. They normally fade out after 200m but it was all I could do to stay with the front pack of them. What would you do differently?: There wasn't much I could do to avoid fighting the crowd; if anything just swim more and more. Transition 1
Comments: I couldn't get my left foot in my shoe for at least a quarter mile. My shoe caved in and I had to mess with it without pedaling for a good twenty seconds before I could get my shoe in, and the velcroe strap in the middle came out completely. I just ignored it for the rest of the race. What would you do differently?: Practice more, I don't know how I can prevent the caving in/screwing up the straps Bike
Comments: I cooked my legs on the bike and suffered a little on the run. What would you do differently?: Slightly easier; I knew my position in the race and should have taken advantage of that. Transition 2
Comments: Perfect T2 Run
Comments: Could have been much faster if I didn't go all out on the bike. Post race
Warm down: walked, partied, had a massage therapist stretch me out. OUCH! Event comments: Time delay was due to weather, not the race or the race director. One volunteer was missing at the bike turnaround, which caused problems for several people (although I thought the turnaround was fairly obvious) Last updated: 2012-08-20 12:00 AM

There was 1hr to set up transition, I took most of that time setting up, making sure everything was just right and visualizing warmup & the race, socializing, etc.
Stayed hydrated & breakfast was a packet of oatmeal and a banana
Stretched and swam in the water early.
