Total Time = 2h 45m 43s
Overall Rank = 232/
Age Group = 41-44
Age Group Rank = 39/64
Pre-race routine:

Tomato Juice, breakfast bar, powdered donuts...I camped with the kids so I didn't have a lot of prep
Event warmup:

a little stretching, swam out and back
Swim
  • 26m 30s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

Really messed up on the navigation of the second leg...just kept fading to the right...didn't panic though, and came in with a good time.
Transition 1
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

This was my fastest T1 ever, so there isn't a ton I would do differently. I had my socks folded and I had to sit to take teh wet suit off and put socks/shoes on
Bike
  • 1h 24m 53s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 17.57 mile/hr
Comments:

Did what I had wanted to do in terms of speed. I had wanted to be at an 18mph pace and I beat it slightly. This was designed to allow me to get off the bike and run 8:30 miles...I would like to improve my bike strength so that I can ride at 18.5 or 19.5 and run with confidence of not cramping up
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

This was one of my faster transitions so not a lot I would do differently. I think the lace locks help and having my hat etc all laid out helps. Less is more. One thing to remember is that I had almost nothing in my transition area....bike shoes, running shoes, hat on running shoes and a water bottle...forgot salt pills and gu which should have been next to my running shoes. I guess I would also like it if I could figure out how to get my Garmin watch on for swim and it not freak out....I had to put it on coming out of the run.
Run
  • 53m 16s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Did ok on the run...basically adhered to my race plan so feel good. Would like to slowly ramp up my run time off the bike. I wasn't in pain running at about the pace I wanted to go. I did promise myself that I would make the last mile hurt, and I didn't really do that, but overall I was happy with it.
Post race

Event comments:

Good race...events on time...good volunteers...beautiful setting...overall a good race. I've done it three years in a row and am planning to do it again in 2013.
