Swim
Comments: Wow - what a huge wave and a mess - really never got sorted out. Maybe the last 200 was smooth. Ended up breast stroking all of the turns. Given the absolute maelstrom of the start - not bad. PR on the swim Transition 1
Comments: Got flustered - saw my main competition coming out of T1 and ran right past my bike. UGH... What would you do differently?: Remember where my rack was.. Bike
Comments: Basically a home course - ride all the time these roads. Went hard and consider this a PR on the bike. I was moving fast. The fact that Jim beat me by 10 seconds on the bike - great for him. I passed a ton of folks - I did get passed by one guy in my wave, But my overall time was better. The good news was the roads were relatively clear so passing was not hard - I did cross the yellow line twice (one time I swear just wanted to cuss the guy out - pulled out and just hung on the girls rear wheel). What would you do differently?: Maybe go a little harder in the section where I "rested". I took a half mile to lower my hard rate under 150 and probably cost maybe 10 seconds or more Transition 2
Comments: Good T1 - very strong and felt like it was smooth Run
Comments: Same as always, crush the bike hold on to the run. I did what I could and left it on the course. Got passed in the last 1/3rd of a mile for 2nd. The guy ran a 21:45 5k - he is not in my league. Still ticks me off Post race
Warm down: I was really hot when I got done..got some food and drink. Saw the results and I was pleased to break 1:35. Grabbed a quick shower and waited around for the results. Talked to some friends and folks. What limited your ability to perform faster: My training has been ok - need to run more but my ankles until the last 14 days have been an issue. Vacation cut into training but I would not have trained harder on vacation. The bike is the strength, with more work on the swim and run (I hate to run) Event comments: Good race - big but manageable. Weather was simply perfect. Thanks Setup Last updated: 2012-08-25 12:00 AM

Picked up race packet day before. Up at 4:55am; normal breakfast of oatmeal and mountain dew. Out the door at 5:40 and at the race site 5:55. Parking was a mess but found a spot close by.
Quickly got marked and my chip - ran into Sarah Hart and discussed a race I am looking to do next year.
Managed a run on the run course, then got a quick swim in - the water was much cooler.
I went to the bathroom after the swim as every one else was done at the swim start
