Comments:

THE RACE STARTED 45 MINUTES LATE. AGAIN.... SAME AS LAST YEAR!!!!!!! The swim was good. The right hand turns threw me off a little, but overall I felt like I swam good. My garmin showed the swim being .2 miles long. Other competitors said the same.

Comments:

Good bike... They covered the cattle grated this year. Some road issues that weren't marked that caused a lot of flats and lost equipment.
What would you do differently?:

Slow down the first few miles to get my Hr down.

Comments:

THE RUN WAS .3 LONG!!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!! Felt good until mile 9 then couldn't eat or drink without wanting to puke. Bonked the last few miles and got really pissed off when it was .3 miles too long. In my mind, there is absolutely no reason for this run to be long!
What would you do differently?:

I'm not sure what to do differently.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around waiting for others to finish. Felt good after sitting for a few minutes.

Event comments:

I did this race in 2011 and swore I wouldn't do it again because of the poor organization. I let my brother talk me into again. MISTAKE!!! Last year the race was almost 3 miles short on the bike and .25 short on the run. The pre-race brief was ridiculously long, but it was obvious they were stalling because the buoys weren't in the water until well after 7 am. This year the swim started 45 minutes late (just like last year) and was .2 miles long. RIDICULOUS. They moved the transition area this year, which was a huge improvement. Must closer to the swim exit. The ride was spot on 56 miles this year. A couple road hazards weren't marked and I saw several people flat at them and water bottles all over the place. THE RUN WAS .3 MILES LONG. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! It's a nice run course and shouldn't be hard for them to figure out. Last year it was short and this year it was too long. Good course with good support. If RACETRI could figure out how to start a race on time and mark the proper distance, it would be a great Half for first timers.
