Swim
Comments: Started the swim off pretty well and felt comfortable to the turn around at the buoy. My goggles had fogged up but I managed to stay on course just by watching other swimmers to the left and right of me. However, once I rounded the buoy I was feeling good and decided I would keep my head down and really push it for the 2nd half. This was not a good decision because after a minute or two I could see that there was nobody around me. I stopped and looked around and I could see the nearest swimmers were coming towards me from another wave. I had swam way off course to my right. I cleared my goggles and could see how far away I was and needed to get back in the right direction. I'm sure this cost me a couple minutes. What would you do differently?: I should not have trusted that I could hold a straight line without sighting. Transition 1
Comments: meh... What would you do differently?: my transitions are slow. The 2-guys in my AG that finished in front of me got in and out in half the time. Bike
Comments: I am very please with my bike. Went out hard and kept the intensity. I was surprised when I hit the turnaround and my avg speed was 23mph. It didn't take long for me to figure out why. Headwind on the return. Not terrible...but it was there. Did not get passed by anyone the entire bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
What would you do differently?: get it done in under a minute Run
Comments: I did use my garmin on the run and the course was long. I have 3.67 miles and under 8mm. Overall, I feel OK with this run but I think I should have been somewhat faster. Not that I wasn't pushing...I was but I just didn't seem to have it in me to go just a little harder. Still...decent effort as I passed at least a dozen other runners and was only passed by one person. A girl! What would you do differently?: not sure Post race
Warm down: nothing...water and que. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of any other races over the summer. I was a little rusty. Event comments: Racing Underground always does a great job with their events! They really have it down and make it a good experience for everyone. If I have anything to complain about it would be the course being long. Maybe it was my garmin but other people seemed to thing it was long as well. I don't really mind running that extra half mile. I would just like to know ahead of time if the course is 3.1 or 3.6 miles. Last updated: 2012-08-26 12:00 AM

not much but needed to get my system moving before the race so jogged about 10-minutes...that worked! swam maybe 50-meters right before the start.
