Pre-race routine:

Worked all night and then drove 3 hours to Shepp. Arrived about 1 hour before the start.
Event warmup:

Had a short jog and chat with my younger brother who was doing his first 10km race.

Comments:

I was happy with my speed and positioning but a little disappointed that i didn't accelerate back into town and go under 1:20.

What would you do differently?:

I'd like to not work or drive before a race. And some sleep and proper nutrition would have been great.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

sleep, work, driving, and fighting bowel movements.

Event comments:

I'm a fan of the country event but not this years course. I noticed some better runners and bigger numbers this year.
A few more drink stations would have been nice.

Went passed the 10km marker at 37mins41secs.
Course: 1 x 21.1km out and back on the (North course). Different to last year. It had a little of everything. Sealed roads out of town. Then Dirt roads, and Sandy hills passing a lake. A little head wind going out and a bit of sunshine.
