Swim
Comments: Felt good the whole way except for running into other swimmers. I was never able to match pace with anyone for drafting purposes. What would you do differently?: Worry less about other swimmers Transition 1
Comments: It was a pretty long run from the water to the transition, and I took it too easy. What would you do differently?: Skip socks. Had to try three times to get one of my socks on right, costing quite a bit of time. Bike
Comments: Rear derailleur was out of whack so gears kept jumping from time time to time. Not bad enough to stop and adjust, but annoying. I was a little dissappointed to not average over 20 mph, but the headwind on the return leg made that impossible. What would you do differently?: Check my gearing adjustment. Transition 2
Comments: Was happy with T2 What would you do differently?: Get speed laces Run
Comments: My running is pathetic, and this was actually a PR. I could have gone faster, but I caught my sister and we took a walk break and finished together. What would you do differently?: Train more for running. Post race
Warm down: Nothing in partuicular What limited your ability to perform faster: Very limited run training due to extremely sore knees and achilles tendon, sporadic swim training in the month before race, way too much beer at mini family reunion in the days before the race. Event comments: Very beginner friendly course, plenty of volunteers, and seemed well organized. They need to upgrade their beer selection and have more on hand. The only semi-decent selection ran out early. Last updated: 2012-09-09 12:00 AM

Came down with a cold the night before so spent much of the morning trying to find cold medicine. Arrived later than I would have liked.
Because of latish arrival I wasn't able to do any run warm up, but did manage to swim a couple of hundred yards.
