Swim
Comments: I learned a lesson from my first sprint tri, start on the outside. And thats what I did. So no getting kicked in the face for me :) The water felt ever bit of 87 degrees. The swim felt long and I just wanted to get out of the water. My sighting was bad. On the plus side I only breaststroke about 50% of it. What would you do differently?: Get some lessons and learn how to swim fast! lol. Transition 1
Comments: Run from water to bike was about 100-200 meters. I think it was a solid transition for a beginner. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I made the rookie mistake of going out to hard to fast. I was trying to make up time for the swim. Seeing how this was a training race for my up coming 70.3 it was good to make mistakes here, the pain shouldnt be as bad :) about an hour into the ride I can start to feel the temperature get hot, really hot. Coming into the transition area I see alot of people walking, huh what happen? What would you do differently?: Learn how to turn with speed, instead of slowing down. Not go out so hard. Coast downhill. Transition 2
Comments: Dismount to bike rack so kinda long so I'm ok with this effort. I had a good dismount the bike never stopped moving. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: HOT! HOT! HOT! The first 1/2 mile was good, until I turned onto the main road and the wall of heat and sun hit me. Now I see why everyones walking, soon I will be one of them. This quickly turned into a survival run. Jog/walk/jog. I was not ready for this kind of hot. I stopped at every water station and received sponges and water. I thanked the volunteers at ever stop because they were angels that day. lol What would you do differently?: I dont know what to do with that kind of heat. I guess train properly before racing that distance again. Post race
Warm down: Did I mention it was hot. I had a hard time lower my body temperature. It took almost an hour to get me body temperature down. I saw a couple go down in need of medical attention. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat! All 102 degrees of it! Event comments: I plan on racing next year. Hopefully, it wont be 102 degrees. Last updated: 2012-09-15 12:00 AM

Woke up around 6:00 under estimated the amount of it would take to get there plus there was alot of parking traffic.
Since I got there later than I wanted I had to rush alot. My regular warmup routine worked for my last race so I did it again, plus it gets me warm in a short amount of time and today thats exactly what I need.
