![]() Swim
Comments: There was a tight fit between the shore and the first couple of buoys. My plan was to stay to the outside (left) and get some clear water to stay out of the washing machine that followed a closer line. This worked pretty well for me but had me swimming a little further, but not too bad. What would you do differently?: I need to keep working on my swim to get the time down. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: The course had a different route for getting from the swim to the transition area, but it was not any easier. It was about 0.27 miles in length, across the bridge and straight up the hill. I think most of the time includes that run. ![]() Bike
Comments: This was a fun bike course. The first half of it was the same as the "My First Triathlon" event that I did in June of this year. It was interesting to see how much easier it was for me since that race. This was the first time I had tried eating on the bike and it seemed to help. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Sort of a slow T2 for me. I think it was mostly because I had a long walk back to my rack position from the bike exit. I haven't mastered the flying dismount, so I was still in my bike shoes. Otherwise T2 went pretty smooth. ![]() Run
Comments: Couldn't believe that I set a 5k PR for myself at the end of the Tri! Felt like my legs were dead the whole time but I just kept moving and it worked out. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Had some cookies, fruit and water. Stretched and walked around a little bit. Event comments: Another great race by GA Multisports. This is my third race with them this year and they have all been very well organized and run. Last updated: 2012-09-19 12:00 AM

Had to check in the bike the day before the race. Morning of the race was the usual wake up at 4am, drive up to the event. Ate half a bagel along the way. Setup transition and milled around a little to keep warm.
