Run
Comments: We planned to go nice and easy and have fun at about 10min/mile pace. Truthfully wasn't sure if Michael would be up for a 10k since he hadn't run that far since our last 10k we did together 4 years ago. Apparently his tennis conditioning has paid off as he made it with no problem. I was a little worried about running in a morph suit, but breathing wasn't too bad. Visibility wasn't the best though, especially when it started getting wet from sweat (I sweat really easily). The last mile or so running down the board walk looking into the sun through the suit was really bad... to the point I almsot ran over some people. Luckily we made it across the finish line without taking anyone out and enjoyed the half mile walk in the chute after the finish before finding the wife and daughter who came to cheer us on. What would you do differently?: Wear a costume that I could see better out of. There were lots of cool costumes out there that I could only vaguely make out. Post race
Warm down: Changed into warm dry clothes (the morph suirt was soaked) and walked backed to the hotel for a shower, then headed for home. No time to enjoy the post race fun becuase the kids had a school band competition to get back for. What limited your ability to perform faster: The costume and Michael taking a 5 min porta-john break at mile 2. The line was long.... Event comments: Well organized and supported race. Thanks J&A Racing and all the great volunteers! Last updated: 2012-09-25 12:00 AM

Up at 0615 to exchange my son's race shirt from a L to XL at the packet pickup in the convention center. The thing is, I had driven down from Williamsburg the day before to pick up our packets so I wouldn't have to worry about race morning and could sleep in. Oh well. Since we were staying at the Double Tree, it wasn't too bad...
Got back to the hotel after getting the race shirt, then Michael and I headed down to have some breakfast. After a bagel and some really bad coffee, back up stairs to put on our costumes then out to the race start. So nice to have our coral right outside the door to the hotel!
Nothing really. It was windy but not too cold (about 64 degress), so just jumped around waiting for the start. Had quite a few other racers wanting to take our picture which was kinda cool.
