Run
Comments: Aid station at 3.28 (1/4 marathon turn around) Stumbled BIG TIME coming in to this aid station and nearly hit the deck. Always has to happen in front of a crowd! Next aid station was at 4.65 (15k turn around). Tried water and coke here--all good, but no gel. Hit the final aid station and had two cups of heed. The last 2.5 miles were hard work. What would you do differently?: Should have taken a gel with me. The website said they would have gel at the aid stations, but they didn't. I wouldn't do anything differently. I paced myself well today and was able to RUN the entire race with decreasing splits for each mile in the second half of the race. It's the first time I've run anything near this distance since April. I'm a happy camper. Post race
Warm down: Eat, drink, walk around, repeat. Waited for awards so hubby could get his hardware for winning his age group! Event comments: I love Planet Adventure races. Last updated: 2012-09-25 12:00 AM

The night before the race, we met Julia "Gotta Run" for dinner and visited her local tri store. It was great to finally meet her and she gave us a really good run down about the trail.
No good sleep the night before--between the snoring (hubby) and the dog waking me up, it was a very fitful night. Bowl of cereal & coffee in the morning. Felt pretty good considering.
Not much. Just a little jogging and stretching, but nothing very serious. No extra energy to waste :-) Had a gel 10 minutes before the race started.
