Swim
Comments: Bottom 14% of age category Bottom 7% overall GOAL: To move out of the bottom 25% of age category What would you do differently?: Swim faster :) Starting to get more confidence and used to the touch and bump of wave swims, especially if you are a slower swimmer. Here comes the next wave... Below average swim, but ok for me. Transition 1
Comments: Because of the alternate swim location it was a long run to T1. My left knee gave away part way through this run so I slowly limped into T1. Bit of a self massage and decided to get on the bike and see what happens. What would you do differently?: Not much due to injury Bike
Comments: This was a pretty quick bike course. My left knee was pretty sore so I just concentrated on spinning rather than powering and still I was able to average greater than 31kph on the bike leg. Age Category: Bottom 37.5% Overall: Bottom 32% What would you do differently?: Given my sore knee I was pretty happy with this. Transition 2
Comments: time was not measured on the official splits and I was focusing on my knee I got the timing on my Garmin a bit off. Transition was ok but not quick. What would you do differently?: Happy with the ride Run
Comments: Soaked myself at every drink station. This really helped keep me under control from a heat perspective. I did not know if I would get this run done because of my knee. First of all thought I may have to pull out, then maybe I can walk it and then I ended up run/walking it. about 4:1. Lots of people were struggling in the heat. I saw three ambulances on the course treating or taking people away. Hammered it for the last km which felt pretty good. What would you do differently?: Pretty happy given the circumstances of the day. My time for the run was probably 10-13 mins slower than I would have hoped for originally Run positions: Bottom 46% Age Group: Bottom 34% Post race
Warm down: swimming in the ocean What limited your ability to perform faster: injury Event comments: This race was made even better with the ITU world cup and Oceanic Cup events. It was great to watch them race. Last updated: 2012-09-29 12:00 AM

not great results, but due to knee injury during T1 run I was ok with this. A great time was had.
About a 5 min warm up swim.
