Pre-race routine:

Up early, breakfast as usual, drove to Bendigo, sought out the loos and had my usual pre-race poop!
Event warmup:

Took part in the aerobic style warm-up. It took me 5 min to work out whether the instructor was male or female. For the record, she had very very masculine arms! Oh, and Gangnam style in the warm up? Not funny, Jan.

Comments:

Took off way too quick. Some dude stepped on the back of my shoe at the start line which sent my shoe flying. Elastic laces aren't what they're cracked up to be in mass starts! First 3k were tough. It was really warm by 9am. Once I hit the Lake, I was ready to put the pedal down but I really didn't. Just kinda treated this like a training run rather than a race. Couldn't care less about results and placing, actually. This was about training and fundraising for Bendigo Hospital.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of walking. Some shopping.

Event comments:

I had a good run and enjoyed myself but I don't know that I'd do it again. I didn't like running along the creek at the backs of houses and a 9am start is just too late when it's warm. Still, it was fun.
