Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3:30 and drove over to Pensacola. Packet pickup and transition were better managed than last year. We left house at 4:20 arrived at 5:21.

Comments:

Water was shallow so ran out a good ways. My HR got a little high and it took me a while to get my rhythm. Bad siting to second buoy, okay after that. It was foggy and siting was a challenge. Run from water to transition was 1.29.
What would you do differently?:

need to train. I miss swimming.

challenge was fog. My sunglasses stayed wet and i had to look over the top of them alot. That made it a bit dangerous. I cant take off sunglasses as they are prescription and i am pretty blind. Rode hard,but i need to be on my tri bike on this course. I got a 2 minute penalty, but i dont know why. I suspect blocking and I blame that on sunglass issue. I know i didn't draft, I was scared to be close to anyone.
What would you do differently?:

maybe wear regular glasses instead of sunglasses, but not sure that would help. Also, ride the tri bike. I raced that bike for 6 years and loved it but haven't been training on it. I went back to training on it and wrecked and have just started riding on it again. Tbis course is flat and straight made for aeroriding.
