Swim
Comments: My pool swims are getting worse while my OWS get better. This was the difference that made me miss the podium. What would you do differently?: try to make it to the pool at least once a week over the off season Transition 1
Comments: About average length of run from pool to transition area, just made miserable by cold pavement. Put down a good pace and passed several people. Did I mention it was miserably cold? Fast transitions are my specialty and this was not really one of them. What would you do differently?: Learn on-the-bike shoe mounting. Bike
Comments: Nasty wet and raining. Hard to keep up speed in turns. Hard to get muscles warm. What would you do differently?: stay in bed Transition 2
Comments: Got to rack easily as I had rack right in front of the one yellow speed bump. Slow getting shoes on. fingers to cold to get socks on quickly. What would you do differently?: wear gloves in the cold Run
Comments: Ok run, felt like i kept good pace, but legs were as expected: cold lead after getting off the cold bike. Not usually a problem when warm. What would you do differently?: Push just a little harder, just a little earlier. Good negative split but should have turned it on a little earlier. Post race
Warm down: couple slices of pizza, changed in car after drying clothes on vents. What limited your ability to perform faster: COLD Event comments: ACAC is a very nice facility. Nice to not have to use porta johns. Nice to have awards ceremony in indoor tennis court. Still prefer last year's course at Midlo Y... one of the most fun run courses I've done, and I hate to run. Up and at the race site early, first on the rack. Packet pickup and chip pickup actually close to each other this time. What a concept.
"warm"-up? Ha. stood shivering under the pavilion in a cold wind until five minutes before my start. slipped into a side of the pool and got the feeling back in my feet.
