Swim
Comments: Swam more relaxed. HR was much lower during the entire swim, and the entire race. Couldn't find feet for about 5 minutes, then I just swam relaxed and behind someone and conserved energy. What a cool way to race! Didn't get bothered until the younger males swam over me around the middle of the swim portion. That got my HR up a bit, but relaxed again and found a guy who was my pace. What would you do differently?: Nothing. The goal was to save as much energy as possible to survive the run. My legs were quite sore from yesterday's Olympic triathlon race. Transition 1
Comments: Took it easy todayl Didn't want to push it at all. A slow jog today let me feel llike my breathing was never too hard. Still forgot sunscreen though... What would you do differently?: Put on sunscreen when it's 90 degrees and sunny! Bike
Comments: still passing people but apparently none in my AG. For all the people I passed, almost as many people went by me-usually young studs with disc wheels. What would you do differently?: Nothing. It was going as planned. Transition 2
Comments: Quicker than I thought it would be. What would you do differently?: Be younger, faster, more good looking. Happier, healthier...sorry, got distracted there... Nothing. Run
Comments: Squished in my shoes for 1/2 of the race. Caused a good sized bllister on my right foot. I would never shower the entire roadway if I were a spectator trying to be nice and help cool the runners off with water--just in case someone doesn't want to get their feet wet... Pace started at 7:19 mile 1 and ended with an 11:22 mile-enough said. What would you do differently?: Avoid getting drenched early with 'helpful' spectators. Post race
Warm down: I was warm enough. I needed a cool down and got it in the form of an iced towel. Heaven! The ice bath was almost tolerable today. I was famished so the food tasted good, even if it wasn't good. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat and doing that silly Oly race yesterday. Event comments: As has been said, the Rev3 crowd do a very good job. If I were to complain, I'd say more areas to sit in the shade would not be unreasonable. It's been sunny now several times in a row. And I'd definitely fix the parking problem at this venue. There is no need for single entrance into the park. A second entrance at the top of the hill should be made for 'event' parking like this one. Last updated: 2012-10-08 12:00 AM

Same as yesterday, but much more relaxed. Chatting in transition and forgot to put out my sunscreen...oops...will pay for that later...
Very brief swim today-I did enough yesterday. HR today was in 80's not 100's like yesterday.
