Swim
Comments: Got the crap beat out of me in the first 100 or so, till we rounded the first turn buoy. Then it was not to bad till you hit the second turn buoy where things were a little bunched up. Sighted well, I think the open water swimming this year has helped. What would you do differently?: Good swim, can't complain. Transition 1
Comments: Had a little problem with getting the suit off my feet. What would you do differently?: Forgot to body glide the ankles. Bike
Comments: Tried to take it a little easy on the first half, the second half is tougher. Not a bad bike for me, no hill to train on but the computrainer rides paid off. What would you do differently?: Ride more Transition 2
Comments: Nothing out of the ordinary. Run
Comments: So the last time I did this was 2009 when they reversed the course and it was one of my worst runs ever! I walked within sight of the finish line last time. My plan was to start out very slow so I would not have a repeat of last time. The only problem with that plan was that Lowell and Mike were somewhere not too far behind. This probably worked in my favor because I knew there could be no walking! What would you do differently?: 54 is not a fast 10k but I was happy with the mental effort. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a bottle of water then straight down to the lake! What limited your ability to perform faster: Marginally trained for an olympic distance. Event comments: Really just wanted to go into this race and enjoy it as this will be the last time I do it. Really was a great day to race, weather was perfect and overall it was a great way to end the season. Last updated: 2012-10-08 12:00 AM
