Swim
Comments: Best OWS so far, and the highlight of the day. Felt very comfortable in the water, and stayed in rythym most of the way. New goggles worked out great, no fog at all. Stayed very focused and got through the swim quickly (for my standards). Did notice that my legs were very tired in the water. I would assume that this is an indication of a runner's kick, and I need to focus on using my hands more for pulling.... I will be incorporating more pull-buoy training hence forward. What would you do differently?: Pull more, less kicking. Outside of that, it was perfect. Transition 1
Comments: The tranistion had to be at least an 1/8 of a mile run. Ridiculously long. Anyways, I got to my bike, and transitioned as usual. I had problems with my socks, and I think I am going to start going sockless during events now. Waited until I was on the bike for a while before GU-ing. What would you do differently?: I need to incorporate a drink of water during my transtion. I was ungoldy thirsty coming out of the water (never had that problem before). As I said before, no socks. And I need to start duct taping gu pack and glasses to bike before race. Bike
Comments: I HATE MY FREAKIN BIKE. Argh! That's pretty much all I can say about the Biking part. Not much speed when you have a crosssection size of a barn Transition 2
Comments: T2 was good as usual. Wasn't able to get my left foot out of my shoe. Going to have to pratice that more. What would you do differently?: Practice shoe removal. That's basically it. Oh, and put my second GU pack in my jersey or on my bike, so I don't have to grab it. Run
Comments: Not the best run, even though I think I finished better than my last couple of races. Was hot as all get out, and was still suffering from cramping on the first mile or so. What would you do differently?: Practice more Bike to run transitions, I have to get my legs used to turning over from Biking. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: lol BIKE, BIKE, BIKE, and more traninig Event comments: No split times, not enough organization, just a pretty poor job for someone that cares about more than finishing. Likely won't be coming back Last updated: 2006-06-04 12:00 AM

Not much.. get ready, set and go. One MAJOR note is that the race started almost an hour later than I thought is was going to. I used my pre-race GU pack at 8, and didn't get in the water til 9 (didn't make me happy at ALL). Someone should have simply said when the race would start on the stupid website before we actually got there. So I basically wasted 95% of the extra energy I would have had for the swim and the begining of the bike.
Swim area was closed off until 5 min. before start time. (Not happy either). So I wasn't able to test out the water as much as I wanted to prior to the start
