Swim
Comments: I thought I was one with the water. I was going really fast but wanted to slow down but didn't. This is my best event by far. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Again struggling with the change from horizontal to vertical with breathing. Will work on this later. What would you do differently?: Dont forget to put chip back on after taking off wetsuit. This cost me some time going back to put it on. Bike
Comments: Placed two additional water cages on bike. Was thinking hydration all the way. Used two complete bottles as showers and had additional two bottles on back of bike with Gatorade Endurance. The insulated bottles worked great. Also used my new electrolyte ECap inserted into aerobar end. All in all my physical health was great going into run. Better hydration from CAPTEX tri. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Quick transition. Used fuel belt with gatorade also decided to use sponges that had been soaking in my ice bucket that I placed under my suit. This got me really cooled down quickly. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Felt better coming into finish line this time with plenty of vigor What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Drank and ate. Went back to hotel showered and drove back to Killeen with son. What limited your ability to perform faster: The fact that I forgot my chip at T1. Wont let that happen again. Event comments: The seemed a little un organized at first but I didn't let that get to me. Overall I like the swim very very much and would like to do this race again. I arrived at host hotel Saturday. Checked out the site and picked up packet. Got in a late meal at Johnny Carino's with family. Had pasta meal would recommend the restaurant. Got to bed late couldn't sleep due to pre race nerves. Ate a P&J sandwich for brkfst. Drank a gatorade. Arrived at race at 0600am only to descover that getting the bike racked meant getting my body marked first which was very disheartening to many who stood in the long line. Got my bike racked and a good spot was worth getting there early
No pre race swim or run just preparred mentally for the race. Did some good stretching.
