Run
Comments: I really wasn't sure how to pace this run having two more runs to do throughout the day, so I figured I go at a medium pace. Felt really good during the run. Nice and relaxed, breathing was easy and legs felt fine. My foot wasn't bothering me either. I was happy with my time. What would you do differently?: Nothing different, I think I paced it properly. Post race
Warm down: After the finish I grabbed a Gatorade G2 and a banana. I was looking for regular Gatorade, but all they had was the low cal version. I drank this for the next hour until the 10k. I walked back to the car to drop off my medal and do my normal after-run stretching routine. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Just need to run more. Event comments: St. Pete Beach Classic is a great race. Great venue, volunteers and overall support. They also have plenty of after race food and drink options. Good swag too. The weather is always perfect. Last updated: 2012-10-14 12:00 AM

Well, I wasn't sure how I'd manage this weekend, especially after doing the Bone Island HIM last weekend. I signed up to do the marathon challenge; 5k, 10k and 3.8 mile beach run on Saturday, then a half marathon on Sunday. I'd never run this much in one weekend, so I wanted to see what I was capable of.
Woke up around 5am. The expo opened at 6am and the 5k didn't start until 7:30 so I had plenty of time. I don't eat anything before my morning runs. I just drink some Gatorade, the amount determined by how far I'm going to run. I filled a bike bottle with Gatorade and drank this the entire morning until about a half hour before the race. St Pete Beach is a short 25 minute drive away so I got there around 6:15, found some parking in a lot about half mile south, then went to packet pick up. My company is the title sponsor so I stopped by the booth and talked to a buddy of mine for a bit. Headed back to car to pin my number and peel off my warmups. Ran the half mile back to start/finish to warmup and got ready for the race.
