Comments: I totally missed the start and ran the whole race needing a toilet but unwilling to wait in a line or run into the park. I ran slow and steady and only faded a little in the heat in the last 5kms. What would you do differently?: A pre-race toilet would be the first thing i'd change. Long runs in training would have allowed me to go faster. A couple more Gel's would have been lovely. ![]() Post race
Warm down: I enjoyed a massage, some free fruit and powerade and then walked 15mins back to the car and drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training was the main limiter. I also had to work later in the day. Event comments: I've thoroughly enjoyed my 3 Melbourne marathons but i won't be back next year. I had been on holidays in Thailand leading up to the event and hadn't done much running so i relaxed 42 was the plan. Pre-race i drove 1.5 hours to the event.
I walked from the car park about 15 mins to the start line and then waited 25 mins in the toilet line. The race started before i made it to the front of the line so i missed out on both the toilet and the start.
